Holy Shit

I do not post about politics. I have nothing to say that hasn't been said. I'll defer to one who has written well about it and I agree with her... Ani Difranco puts it this way in Self Evident...

under the thumb of some blue blood royal son
who stole the oval office and that phony election
i mean it don't take a weatherman to look around and see the weather
jeb said he'd deliver florida, folks and boy did he ever
and we hold these truths to be self evident:
#1 george w. bush is not president
#2 america is not a true democracy
#3 the media is not fooling me

So, check this out. It is scary, ridiculous and infuriating to me.

Nothing like teaching the world how to make a nuclear bomb.

Sadly, this somehow doesn't surprise me.

Cindra sent me a link to your post that just said "Holy Shit!" and I went to your blog and then clicked on the political cortex link and said "holy shit!"

I created a video once for an Ani DiFranco tour (it was a fund raiser for a children's organization that we both supported-- I did graphics, advertising and in this case video ads for them, she showed a video I created on a giant screen during her performances on a tour and donated proceeds to the organization). She was very cool and was extremely nice and gracious to work with. Anyway, this was right after the first time Bush was elected and she started giving speeches and saying that Bush was not her president publicly to much applause. What was funny was that the director fo the children's organization got caught up in it all and said that Bush was not her president in a public speech and some of her donors asked for their money back! So, it had an interesting legacy in some of the circles I used to swim in.

Sorry for the long comment. I bookmarked your blog and will start coming around more.

Peace, T

Nice to see you T!! Thanks for coming. Wow. That is an interesting story, both because I think it's way cool that you worked with Ani D and because of the reactions to her comments you shared. It reminds me of when another of my favorite artists commented publically about Bush. I was answering phones for the Red Cross after Katrina when Kanye West went off about Bush not caring about black people. The following 50 or so calls were a mix of pledges and demands to cancel pledges already made. It was nuts.

Your work is awesome, by the way. I love it.

I didn't know you listened to Ani. I have all of her albums, and I've seen her a bunch of times. Serena actually wrote to her and asked if she could come to dinner for her birthday.

Where are the heart emoticons?

Hiya Cuz, yep, love Ani. Did she answer Serena? What heart emoticons? xoxo
